Hey Guys,

Welcome back to our blog. We are very excited to bring you our latest blog series.

I think we can all agree, especially with the current situation, it is important to have an EXCAPE not just for our physical health but also for our mental health. For many people, getting outdoors and into nature can really boost their mood along with getting some well needed Vitamin D. Rain, hail, or snow it's almost guaranteed to brighten your spirits.

We have decided to share some of our favourite places to go for a walk, stroll, hike and some active activities which may be of interest to you. We live in one of the most beautiful countries in the world and we are privileged to have such amazing locations and scenery to soak up.

We will start by sharing some in our beautiful county, Kildare. This is part one of our Active Activities #KildareEXCAPE blog series. Stay tuned over the coming weeks to get inspired.

We will be using the hashtag #KildareEXCAPE on our social media @excapestudio on instagram and facebook so that you guys can share your favourite places that you like to excape, which may also inspire someone else.

St. Catherine's Park

We are so lucky to have this stunning park on our doorstep. This beautiful park offers so much to our community. Whether you want a short stroll or a longer walk/jog/run, St. Catherines Park is a fantastic place for a daily excape. You can enter from both the Leixlip Co.Kildare, side or the Lucan Co.Dublin side. See Map below.

With many friendly faces, it is an ideal spot to bring your kids, family, friends, and even pets along. There are many loops for all levels of fitness with some seats along the way if you would like to take a rest. St. Catherine's park also has a playground for the kids to have some fun.

On Sunday's St.Catherine's Park has a wonderful Urban Market from 10am-5pm with the some lovely places to grab a coffee, have some food, pick up some fresh fruit/baked goods, some stunning artisan crafts and lots more. Soak up the fabulous community atmosphere and enjoy an active Soul Sunday. You can check out their facebook page here for all the details.

Donadea Forest Park

This stunning forest park located 8km south of Kilcock, Co. Kildare has three looped walks.

The Lake Walk (0.8 kms, 30 mins, access for all) is a lovely looped walk around the lake and can be accesed by all, and why not feed the ducks along the way.

The Nature Trail (1.6 kms, 1 hr, Easy) this trail winds its way through some of the man-made elements in the park from the estate era, and takes in a short shrubbery trail along the way. The Aylmer Walk (5.7 kms, 1 ½ hrs, Easy) takes you all around the park and is also an Slí na Slainte trail so it is good for your health and heart.Check out the trail map below.

Royal Canal Bike Hire

If you want to change it up from walking or running, you can hop on your bike and take in the fabulous scenes along our beautiful Royal Canal. If you don't have your own bike, you can rent them here for the day from the Royal Canal Bike Hire in Maynooth.Take it at your own pace and chose from the many destinations in Kildare to stop off and have a coffee or a treat in one of the stunning towns.Check out the map below with the Royal Canal Greenway route:

This is a lovely way to spend the day having some time to yourself or making some memories with your family and friends.

Why not make a day of it, take a break and bring a picnic to enjoy by the canal. We would love to see what you guys get up to over the coming weeks.
